Basic Insurance Policy for EIMA 2024 Event

The basic insurance for the EIMA 2024 event is provided directly by the organizer and includes the following main coverages:

Included Coverages:

All Risks Storage and Transport: Coverage up to €26,000 per exhibitor, against fire, theft, and damage during transportation.
Third-Party Liability Insurance (TPL): Coverage limit of €1,500,000, with coverage up to €500,000 for employers' liability (EL) for each exhibitor.

Summary of Coverages:

A) All Risks Coverage – Storage:

This coverage protects the assets present in the exhibition stand, such as furnishings, setups, equipment, and goods, from all material and direct damages, fires, and thefts. Coverage also includes thefts during operational hours (i.e., during the exhibition), with a maximum of €500 per exhibitor and a deductible of €100 per claim.

Main Exclusions:

Cash, valuables, and precious items are not covered. Exclusions also apply for shortages discovered only during inventory checks, acts of terrorism, damage caused by faults, and damages during the assembly or disassembly of machinery or equipment.

B) All Risks Coverage – Transport:

This coverage protects goods shipped to the fair from material and direct damage. The policy is effective from the moment the goods leave the exhibitor’s warehouse until they are delivered to the fair’s premises. Coverage remains valid for the return transport, provided the goods are adequately packed.

C) Third-Party Liability (TPL/EL):

Third-Party Liability Insurance (TPL): Covers unintentional damage caused to third parties, such as personal injuries, death, or damage to property, resulting from an accidental event related to the exhibitor's activity. This coverage also includes damages resulting from malicious acts by third parties for which the exhibitor is liable.
Employers' Liability (EL): Covers injuries suffered by employees involved in the exhibitor’s activities, under both the DPR No. 1124/1965 and the Civil Code. Coverage is only valid if the exhibitor complies with mandatory legal insurance requirements.

Main Exclusions:

Damage caused by the operation of vehicles on public roads or equivalent areas, theft, fires, and damage to property that the exhibitor is responsible for safeguarding.

These coverages offer comprehensive protection for EIMA 2024 exhibitors, ensuring coverage for risks related to the management and transport of goods, as well as third-party liability security.

SPECIFIC INFO FOR THEFT AND ROBBERY SECTOR:

The insurance coverage for Theft and Robbery protects the insured assets, such as furnishings, setups, equipment, and goods present at the exhibition stand, against thefts and robberies. The policy covers direct and material damage caused by these events, with specific details:

Covered Cases:

1. Theft:

- The coverage is operative only if the theft is committed by breaking and entering. This means that the thief must enter the stand's premises by forcing locks, breaking walls, roofs, ceilings, or windows, or breaking locking systems.
- If the thief enters secretly, coverage is valid only if the theft is followed by an act of breaking and entering (e.g., breaking locks or walls) to steal the insured goods.

- If the thief uses tools or demonstrates exceptional agility to access over 4 meters from the ground, the policy still covers the theft, provided that a break-in occurred.

2. Robbery:

- If it occurs within the stand's premises, even if the violence or threat is exerted on people taken from outside and forced to enter the premises.

3. Damage caused by thieves:

- Damage to insured goods, premises, or fittings caused during the theft or robbery is covered, including damage to alarm systems.

4. Vandalism:

- Damage caused by thieves in an attempt to commit theft or robbery is covered.

5. Socio-political and Atmospheric Events:

- The policy covers thefts or robberies that occur during strikes, riots, acts of terrorism, or in case of hurricanes, storms, etc.

Excluded Cases:

1. Thefts caused by loss, shortages, skillful theft, or fraud.
2. Damage from fire, explosion, or blast caused by the thief or robber.
3. Damage related to war, riots, or nuclear radiation.
4. Indirect damage such as non-use of goods, lost profits, or other economic losses.
5. Damage to motor vehicles (except those on display) and animals.
6. Thefts caused by fraud or gross negligence by the policyholder, cohabiting persons, or those responsible for surveillance.

In summary, coverage is active when theft or robbery occurs with break-in, violence, or threat, offering protection against damage to insured goods and physical spaces. Damage caused by fraud, gross negligence, war events, riots, or thefts without break-ins or violence is excluded.

SPECIFIC INFO FOR SKILLFUL THEFT AND SHORTAGES SECTOR

(separately purchasable)

The supplementary coverage (not provided in the base policy) included in the guarantees for skillful theft and shortages is divided into two main types of insurable events: skillful theft and shortages. Below is a clear and simple explanation of what the insurance covers and what situations are excluded from coverage.

Covered Cases by the Policy:

1. Skillful Theft:

  • The policy covers material damage to insured goods (such as furniture, equipment, setups, and goods in the stand) in case of theft carried out with particular skill. This means that the thief was quick or able to evade the attention of the victim or others present.

  • This may involve thefts where the thief stole items without the victim realizing, or even goods that were not directly on the person but in the vicinity.

  • It is essential that the theft is reported to the police within 24 hours of its discovery, and in any case, no later than the end of the fair or the immediately following period.

  1. Shortages:

    • The insurance also covers the disappearance of insured goods due to misappropriation by third parties. In this case, it refers to goods that are missing without obvious signs of theft but have been illicitly removed.

    • Again, the report must be made to the authorities within 24 hours of discovering the shortage.

Exclusion Cases of the Supplementary Coverage:

The policy does not cover damages in the following cases:

  • Fraud or gross negligence: If the theft or shortage was facilitated or caused intentionally by the policyholder, the insured, or cohabiting persons or those under their responsibility.

  • Fires or explosions caused by the thief during the theft.

  • Riots, wars, or uprisings: Damage caused by war events or civil unrest is not covered.

  • Atomic radiation or other nuclear transmutation phenomena.

  • Indirect damage: For example, profit losses or damages for the non-use of goods, which do not directly involve the material loss of insured items.

  • Motor vehicles and animals: Vehicles (except those on display or for sale) and animals are not covered.

  • Fraud: Damages resulting from fraud are not covered.

Important Aspects

  • The policy is stipulated on a “first absolute risk” basis, meaning that the indemnity will not be reduced based on the total value of the insured goods.

  • A €100 deductible is applicable, which will be deducted from the indemnity amount for each claim.

  • In summary, the insurance covers thefts carried out with skill and the disappearance of insured goods, provided these events are reported promptly. However, it does not cover damages caused by intentional behaviors or extraordinary events such as wars or riots.
